Jefferson Apartment GroupIn accordance with the Rosslyn Sector Plan, this mixed-use residential/retail development vacates a previous service road to create a self-contained urban block. Two towers accommodating 422 units share a podium and are joined with a skybridge – recalling the 1960s skywalk system which once dominated the neighborhood. As the most prominent site visible when crossing the Key Bridge into the Commonwealth of Virginia, its iconic voided form creates a new identity for the Potomac waterfront and allows for a grove of birch trees to occupy the physical and theoretical center of the project. A mix of materials – both classic brick and sleek metal – reflect the architectural diversity of the surrounding neighborhoods.
