
ENR Ranks SBA as a Top 100 Green Design Firm in the US
Shalom Baranes Associates (SBA) is ranked at #29 on Engineering News-Record’s (ENR’s) list of the Top 100 Green Design Firms in the United States, rising seven places from the 2018 rankings. Per ENR, the annual listing is based on “revenue from projects that have been registered with or certified by a third-party organization that sets standards for measuring a building’s or facility's environmental impact, energy efficiency or carbon footprint.” SBA has been included on the list every year since 2010.

Signature at Reston Town Center and VITA Tysons were honored in Fairfax County’s 2019 James M. Scott Exceptional Design Awards. The jury selected Signature for an Honor Award and VITA for a Merit Award.

Three SBA Projects Honored in 2019 AIA|DC Awards
The jury of the Washington Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA|DC) 2019 Design Awards honored three projects designed by Shalom Baranes Associates in this year’s competition. Signature at Reston Town Center and VITA Tysons received awards for excellence in Architecture and Channing E. Phillips Homes received a jury citation as an Urban Catalyst project.

Groundbreaking: 699 Fourteenth Street, NW
Lincoln Properties and Pearlmark have broken ground on 699 Fourteenth Street, NW. SBA is providing full A/E services to revive the historic Federal-American National Bank / National Bank of Washington building at 14th and G Streets, NW and introduce a new 11-story addition to create a trophy-class office development. The project will energize a long-dormant site just blocks from the White House.

WAMU 88.5 Highlights Historic Tree Relocation at City Ridge
WAMU 88.5 featured a story on the strategy behind relocating a 65-foot historic tree at City Ridge. SBA is providing full A/E services for the project, which will redevelop the former Fannie Mae Headquarters site into an urban mixed-use village.
