Historic Preservation Architects

Shalom Baranes Associates is seeking full time Historic Preservation Architects with 2 to 20 years of experience on various preservation projects at the federal, state, and/or local levels involving renovations, additions, and/or new construction.

In this role, candidates will:

• Participate in on-site assignments, including existing conditions surveys, evaluations, and measurements
• Prepare existing conditions assessments, historic structures reports or similar work with historic structures
• Develop and coordinate construction documentation, including specifications
• Coordinate the work of consultants
• Ensure that the contract drawings reflect design intent

The role requires strong technical skills in:

• Exterior and interior details
• Production drawings
• Technical documentation

Required qualifications include:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in architecture with a focus in Historic Preservation
• 2+ years of architectural experience with historic resources
• Successful history of working closely with design teams to translate design into production drawings
• Basic skills in Revit, Bluebeam, and Adobe Creative Suite
• Knowledge of relevant building codes and local regulatory processes
